We believe transitioning to adulthood starts at a young age. Within our school curriculum, we adopt techniques to teach kids as young as nursery. This causes positive spillover effects between our school and future’s programs. The primary target audience for our Future’s program activities is 8th grade through post-graduate alumni.

Insipiring Students

Professional development workshops help students evaluate their strengths and build interview skills.
The Inspirational Speaker Series brings in talented Nepalis and international speakers to share their
professional journeys and help students understand career options.
Each year, Grade 10 students visit Kathmandu universities, vocational schools, cultural heritage sites, and businesses to explore career and
education options.
Networking with professionals also results in mentorship and internship opportunities.

Futures Center

The center is outfitted with laptops and hi-speed Wi-Fi. Students come during free periods, at lunch, and before and after school to check emails, practice typing, write essays, and research scholarships. Futures courses happen here too.

We strive to instill in our young adults, at both Kopila Valley Children’s Home and Kopila Valley School, a sense of responsibility to give back to their communities and contribute to the development of Nepal. It’s exciting that 20 alumni have returned to volunteer and work at Kopila Valley, and we are proud to watch the ripple effect as they positively influence their families, communities, and the entire global community.

Careers & Education

We provide learning and support for students to explore higher education and future career options. Career counseling is relatively new in Nepal, and we are
helping students learn how to dream! This includes for Grades 8-12:

Tools and life skills to be physically, emotionally, and financially well-adjusted adults.
Coaching to make informed decisions regarding their academic and professional futures.
Opportunities for further education with our no-interest loan fund, scholarships, & university partnerships.
